retro and forthcoming perspectives...

The process of creation requires a certain amount of distance, and simultaneously a proximity, to find just the right melange of objective- and subjectiveness to the creation in itself.

We have decided to bridge the gap, by writing our own blog on creative subjects that influence us here at Electrodorn, as well as share with the world our process of creation in carefully documented articles we hope will inspire and entertain you folks!

The Creators of Old

Recently taking a Sunday stroll with the family, we headed into the Palais de Justice to discover one of the oldest chapels in Paris - the Sainte Chapelle. What a site to behold. This structure, which was continuously constructed, modified and added onto since the better part of the mid 13th Century, stands tall within the old palace walls, and truly takes your breath away on first glance through the doorway.

Here is a prime example of what creativity and Savoir-faire are all about, technology holds nothing against the wonders that these masons managed to carve, mould, cut, build and paint within this space. Everything from the floor to the ceiling is covered in artistry from it's period, and it still manages to impress the pants off anyone who takes the time to visit.

It is also the sort of environment that inspires new ideas and freshens up the old cortex and makes you want to create something again! The mix of medieval, gothic and renaissance sparks off a strange melange of feelings, I can see the forms and colours and I have an urge to do something with them... but what... maybe stained glass buttons? hmm

So I am off to start thinking about it, and I leave you with this note: do yourself a favour and go visit this beautiful Chapel next time you are in Paris, France!
